The 2014 Geneva Motor Show has officially opened its doors today (March 6th) with car enthusiasts expecting to see some of the best new and existing motoring marvels.

It is one of the biggest vehicle showcases in Europe and fanatics from all over the continent are expected to be in attendance – as well as leading experts and motoring journalists.

There is a huge variety of makes and models on display, with manufacturers using the event as an opportunity to showcase their latest technological innovations and stylish new cars.

So which models are expected to be the hottest in Geneva?

The latest model from the enigmatic Italian supercar makers is the Huracan, which it has already described as ‘the start of a new legend’.

This V10 5.2-litre monster is capable of speeding from zero to 62mph in just 3.2 seconds, while keeping the foot to the floor will see the car hitting 201mph.

Koenigsegg Agera One:1

Koenigsegg is formidable in its attempts to quench drivers’ need for speed. The new Agera One:1 is no different.

Named after the model’s power-to-weight ratio of 1:1, the manufacturer claims it is the fastest production car ever made.

The Hennessey Venom recently put in a staggering performance of 270mph, while the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has hit 268mph. Koenigsegg says the Agera One:1 will go as fast as 273mph.

While visitors to Geneva will not get to see it in action, they will be able to stare in awe at the model that could soon become a record-breaker.

McLaren 650S

McLaren, one of the most impressive supercar producers around, will be throwing its latest models into the ring as it vies for the affections of the motoring maniacs at Geneva.

The 650S Spider and Coupe are set to light up the event, delivering exquisite luxury while not pulling any punches when it comes to performance.

Featuring the British-built McLaren M838T twin turbo 3.8-litre V8 engine, the car is able to hit 62mph from standing in three seconds flat, while a top speed of 207mph is possible.

Bentley Continental GT Speed convertible

It’s a Bentley and it’s a convertible. What more could you ask for?

The brand synonymous for luxury will be displaying its latest version of the Continental GT Speed, with visitors set to go all aquiver when they see it topless.

With a 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 engine under the bonnet, it’s no slouch either. It develops 635PS, a record 820Nm of torque and can reach 206mph.

Ferrari California

While it is obviously stunning on the outside, what’s underneath is arguably more staggering.

The latest Ferrari comes with a world first, in the form of a completely new power unit. The turbocharged V8 successfully combines performance, torque and sound of a conventional engine from the Prancing Horse, but with fuel efficiency thanks to the benefits of turbocharging.
