The most festive photos from 2021’s motoring news round-up
Sending out the merriest of Christmas wishes to all of our readers and subscribers! And what better way to celebrate and enjoy this festive season than to sit on your phone (or other device) and look at pictures of cars? We certainly wouldn’t have it any other way.
Here’s a look at some of the coolest wintery/Christmassy images from this year, hand-picked by us.
Bentley Continental GT in the peaks
A promotional photo of a Conti GT sporting Bentley’s new winter wheel package, for customers that want the convenience of quickly swapping wheel sets with winter tyres when the weather gets cold.
A filthy Morgan carrying a Christmas tree
This is no ordinary Morgan, though. This is the Plus Four CX-T, an all-new special project with only 8 examples made and already sold. The car in the photo here is actually the prototype, hence the older number plate and the various bashes and bruises it bares.
The company amusingly writes “when 19-year-old sheet metal apprentice Hamish Cameron-Eveleigh was sent to collect the factory Christmas tree, there was only one vehicle in the Morgan car park he was going to pick”.
Two Mercedes-AMG SLs winter testing together
There’s been a lot of winter testing recently. The BMW i7 and iX, Rimac’s C_Two and CUPRA Born have all either been sent away to some arctic location or tested in simulation facilities as of late. Specifically, the AMG SL, coming from a historic lineage dating back to the 300 SL from the 1950s, is entering its eighth generation. These shots were taken in Sweden and the car is said to be in the final stages of testing. We can’t wait to see the cars when they are released!
Hennessey’s Audi RS 6 – the fastest method of Xmas tree delivery!
It looks like there’s little left of this poor tree strapped atop the Hennessey RS 6 and it’s no wonder why with the car being capable of 183mph! The people over at Hennessey apparently love Christmas and what better way to get festive (and do some fun promotion for their company) than to make a new top speed record, meaning that this car holds the official and very impressive title of “fastest station wagon with a Christmas tree mounted on the roof”.
Aston Martin embrace the spirit of giving
Last but not least, let’s give it up for Aston Martin doing a good deed by giving Christmas presents to children at the Royal Gloucestershire Hospital. No child wants to be in hospital at Christmas time but Aston Martin is doing what it can to bring joy to those in need. Delivered in style and luxury, the gifts were of course transported by a DBX, their new 4.0-litre V8 SUV. Not only does it look the part but it’s more than capable of delivering cargo thanks to 632 litres of boot space!
