The most bootylicious cars in the industry

Not all cars are created equal. Some can do 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds, some have massaging seats, some can even drive themselves! That being said, for the point of this article, none of that matters because all we’re judging today is the beauty of the booty.

We’ve split up the competition into 5 broad categories; supercar, classic, SUV, coupe and saloon. This doesn’t account for all types of car, but it covers most bases and within these categories, there are plenty of stunning rear ends to judge.

Supercar

We start off with the most exciting and competitive category first. Supercars aren’t just fast, they are the most beautiful, elegant, aggressive looking car available with ridiculous amounts of money going into the design of the car. These are the cars that they make posters of, to be proudly displayed on the bedroom walls of supercar-loving children around the world.

So that there is no overlap with the classic category, we’re only picking supercars that are less than 15 years old.

New Bugatti Chiron (1)

There are obviously so many beauties to choose from. Take the Bugatti La Voiture Noire, for example, with its futuristic light bar and the ridiculous (but cool) 6 exhaust tip setup. It truly is an event in itself and it’s a shame that there’s only one of them, which was thought to be owned by Ronaldo, but was in fact bought by Ferdinand Piech, the former chairman of the Volkswagen Group.

Koenigsegg One (2)

Not all supercars have stunning rears though. Take the Koenigsegg Agera RS or the Ford GT. From behind, they look like a child’s toy and an ugly pig respectively.

Ford GT rear (3)

The winner has to be the brand new Ferrari SF90. The rear diffusers, the new and reimagined lights, the higher exhausts. They all just appear to come together perfectly. It’s like the stars have aligned.

Classic cars

The Ferrari F40, Jaguar E-Type and the Aston Martin DB5 are all highly regarded classic cars and almost always praised for their stunning looks, but do they have nice-looking behinds?

Classic Jaguar e type (6)

Although those cars are all incredibly cool in many ways, our personal choice for best classic rear is the forever-cool and timeless Ford Mustang Fastback. Ford managed to nail the design first time with their first generation of Mustangs. Perfectly capturing the essence of American muscle, the first gen Mustang’s sleek silhouette and wide back set the bar for not just Mustangs, but for muscle cars as a whole.

SUV

SUVs are becoming more and more popular thanks to their higher seating position, superior safety and most of all, the prestigious feeling that comes with dominating the road and driving with no regard to other road users. We’re joking, of course. Mostly.

So, which one has the best looking rear? The G Wagon? The Lamborghini Urus? The BMW X4? Well, our top choice is actually the Jaguar I-Pace.

The I-Pace has won many awards, but none specifically for its rear end, which is a shame. It features a virtually 90° drop-off, which you won’t find on any other SUV and helps make the I-Pace instantly recognisable amongst Jaguar’s other SUVs. In addition to this unusual design, the car also features rear lights that sweep around the car extremely and an absolutely gorgeous spoiler. Which SUV rear is your favourite? Let us know!

Coupe

Coupes are meant to be stylish and our pick for the best rear is no exception. Although our pick didn’t have a very smooth launch and doesn’t come without its controversy, you must remember that we are only judging rears today. We don’t quite agree with everything about this car, but the bottom end of it is simply superb.

Our pick for the coupe with the best looking rear is… The new Toyota Supra!

Toyota Supra 2019 (9)

The new Supra does a lot of things wrong. The interior is great, but unoriginal and literally taken from a BMW. The front isn’t as cool as the concept and the price is way too high. That being said, the car’s behind is the best part of the car and the design department should be praised for it.

Saloon

Last, but not least, saloons. They’re often packed with plenty of luxury and plenty of power, but not all are made with beauty in mind. After much deliberation and discussion, we’ve exhausted all possible options. From the range of German saloons to less common competitors such as the Kia Stinger and Skoda Octavia vRS, we’ve considered them all and our choice is…

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. We consider this marvellous machine to be highly underappreciated given just how incredibly stunning it is, especially from behind. We wouldn’t mind being overtaken by this Italian luxury saloon because it means we’d be able to see all four genuine exhaust tips, the understated rear lip spoiler and we’d also be able to hear the soulful roar that comes out the back.

Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio (10)

The back end of the car is quite understated and we believe that will help the car age slower and still look just a stunning 10 years down the line. There are no large fake plastic rear air vents and the exhaust tips are real. The minimalistic design features everything it needs to and nothing more and for that, we’re thankful.

Be sure to let us know your favourite car rears in the comments!
