As one of the most well known kings of speed in the motoring world, it is only right that Ferrari takes up a place at Goodwood Festival of Speed and at this year’s event there will be two new vehicles making their debut.
The all new California T and 458 Speciale will be coming to the festival for the first time and will be joined by the Ferrari F12berlinetta, which will make its return after recently receiving the Compasso d’Oro design award.
Showing off a range of technological additions and advances will be the California T, which is Ferrari’s new grand tourer and now comes equipped with a V8 turbocharged engine. It sees a combination of well-known Ferrari engine qualities, including its incredibly fast responsiveness, exceptional performance and fantastic acceleration regardless of what speed it is travelling at.
The car also sees a range of advantages from utilising turbocharged technology. This includes lower emissions and fuel consumption, while enjoying excellent power output and compact dimensions.
Demonstrating the top rungs of extreme technology will be the 458 Speciale, with its advanced technical solutions for its powertrain, aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics. It promises to offer top driving thrills and performance. In only three seconds, the car can go from zero to 62.5mph.
This also marks the first regular production Ferrari where active aerodynamic devices are located on the rear diffuser, while there are also mobile aerodynamic devices at the front.
Meanwhile, the F12berlinetta will be making its return after debuting at the festival last year. As well as the Compasso d’Oro design award, the car has also managed to pick up the International Engine of the Year Performance Engine and Above 4-litre class in both 2012 and 2013 as well as the Supercar of the Year award from Top Gear.
There will also be celebrity drivers present at the event to commemorate Ferrari. The Scuderia Ferrari team will be demonstrating the 2009 F60 Formula 1 car that was driven by the former Formula One driver Pedro de la Rosa. Additionally, Kimi Raikkonen and John Surtees will be making special guest appearances.
