Aston Martin’s extensive experience of motorsport, it’s knowledge of design and its engineering ingenuity have resulted in a 800-plus bhp car made completely out of carbon fibre.

There will only be 24 examples of the car around the world, which can be tailored according to what their owners wish for a track day experience. This is because there are a number of detailed power and dynamic performance adjustments available for the car.

Chief executive officer Dr Andy Palmer said: “Aston Martin Vulcan is, by its very nature, a rare and thrilling supercar. Designed and engineered to deliver a genuinely bespoke driving experience that draws on our rich heritage, this car tailors its power and handling to both the capabilities of the driver and the characteristics of the track.”

The Vulcan was styled completed by an in-house design team, which was led by Aston Martin’s chief creative officer Marek Reichman. Powering the front mid-engined rear-wheel drive vehicle is a naturally-aspirated 7.0 litre V12 petrol engine, which Aston Martin suggests is a hint towards the next generation of its sports cars.

Multimac, Aston Martin’s long-term specialist body engineering and manufacturing partner, was in charge of creating the Vulcan’s body and monocoque, which is made by carbon fibre. It was inspired by Aston Martin’s GT racing campaign.

The Vulcan includes integral limited-slip differential, a magnesium torque tube with a carbon fibre propeller shaft and Brembo racing calipers that work with carbon ceramic racing disc brakes. These discs measure at 380 mm in diameter at the front and 360 mm at the rear.
