Details of motorsports show the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power (CPOP) have been unveiled for 2015.
Among the spectacles that people can expect to see over the course of the event are stunts, races, competitions and displays on and off-road.
One of the events that focusses on the ‘power’ theme is a 1,000 bhp-plus class that will be taking to the Cholmondeley race track. There will be some of the most powerful rally cars in the world from the Group B era and some Formula One cars from the turbo era in the 1980s.
More vehicles that will add to the event’s theme of power include a number of 200 bhp bikes, such as the Suzuki RGV500 XRB0, which is the most powerful two-stroke to have ever been created.
To mix up the event, each day will have its own theme. On Friday 12th, Historic Lotus Register will be putting on a parade of all the production Lotus models that have ever been manufactured. Among those included in the parade are the original Seven, the Esprit and the Evora GTE, the most powerful Lotus ever made. These models will also be involved in a special concours that is dedicated to the Lotus brand.
Saturday 13th will see American Muscle cars racing for a grand prize. This concours will see Plymouth Barracuda HEMIs going up against Dodge Challengers.
There will be a range of supercars from the 1980s on show on Sunday 14th. Among them will be the Lamborghini Countach 5000QV, with a 455 bhp 5.2-litre V12 engine, which is thought to be one of the stars of the show. Another highlight is set to be the Ferrari Testarossa.
Event director James Hall said: “This is the eighth year that CPOP has been running and we have a lot of exciting elements in the pipeline to make this year’s line-up bigger and better than ever.
“CPOP is the only motorsport event in the UK where visitors can be enthralled by explosive power on land, water and in the air. We’re making even more of a feast for the senses this year by going back to our roots with the theme of ‘power’.
During 2014, there were 67,000 attendees at the event. Mr Hall said that as this year’s CPOP focusses on power he hopes that there will be even more visitors in 2015, whether that’s for the 1,000 bhp-plus special on the track, the American Muscle cars or the supercars from the 1980s.
More details on the event will be released over the next few months and tickets are currently on sale from www.cpop.co.uk. Adult tickets are priced from £22, while children can go free if their tickets are booked before April 30th.
The event will take place at Cholmondeley Castle and across its parkland and 20-acre lake in Malpas, Cheshire.
