Maserati GB unveiled its new and eagerly awaited Levante SUV to a huge crowd in London yesterday (26th May).

A large and prestigious event, it was hosted by TV and radio presenter Lisa Snowden, who was partnered by Giulio Pastore, general manager of Maserati Europe.

The car’s big reveal was massively celebrated with a dramatic unveil and a follow-up party with music from DJs Amber Le Bon and Becky Tong.

But what was everyone getting so excited about?

Well, as Levante is the brand’s first foray into the SUV market, there was a huge amount of expectation to see what the manufacturer would pull out of its pocket.

Upon seeing the vehicle, you’ll agree that it’s clear that the brand has managed to encompass its style and performance in this new format exceptionally well.

The decision of the company to produce an SUV was made to expand the brand’s position in the global luxury automotive market. Now, the Levante joins the likes of the Quattroporte, Ghibli, GranTurismo and GranCabrio to propel Maserati to the forefront of this part of the industry.

At the event itself, Mr Pastore commented: “The launch of Levante tonight marks a truly significant moment for Maserati in the UK. With strong demand for luxury SUVs, we are now able to appeal to an even wider audience.”

He added that for him, the Levante is a pure Maserati that is perfect for both on-road and off-road capabilities, meaning that not only does it look good, it has excellent performance too.

Powering the Levante is a 3.0-litre V6 Turbo Diesel engine, which is nicely complemented with an active air suspension fitted as standard.

Comfort has always been at the top of Maserati’s must-have list and so it is in its new SUV too, to the extent that you’ll swear you’re stretched on the couch.

The Levante will be on sale in the UK from next week and will start from £54,335, but the model can be upgraded to a Luxury or Sport model pack, which will cost £60,285. A flagship Luxury Pack Zegna Edition comes in at £61,185 and features bespoke Zegna Mulberry silk.
