The final stage of the Motor-Vision Awards is fast approaching and we are delighted to share our excitement with you in securing Jon Oakley from Oakley Design to join our specialist judging panel for the final interview stage on Wednesday 20th September.
For those of you who aren’t sure who Jon Oakley is, we have all you need to know below!
Jon’s the proud owner of Oakley Design; a company specialising in personalisation of luxury super and hyper cars. A company which continually chases product perfection, in the pursuit for ultimate performance.
Whether it be subtle styling, a little more performance when required or superiority on the racetrack, Oakley Design is committed to making the experience more rewarding.
The story behind Oakley Design
Oakley Design originated on the racetrack , developing a Porsche 997 GT3 for various European GT events including, the Dutch Supercup Challenge, which they won in 2008. Jon also had a big influence on the development of the Ascari A10 as a test and development driver for the British supercar manufacturer.
From there, Jon began to specialise in tuning and customising Ferraris and Lamborghinis, while continuing his expertise on performance Porsches, with projects such as the Oakley Design Ferrari 458 Italia, Porsche 997 GT2 and Lamborghini Aventador which appeared on Pistonheads and Top Gear. Jon’s cars have also made appearances on the Fast & Furious franchise.
Their client base has steadily risen over the past few years and naturally with wealthier clients, comes more luxurious cars.
The Oakley Design portfolio includes the likes of the holy trinity hypercars (McLaren P1, Porsche 918 & Ferrari LaFerrari), the F1 Renault Twizys, along with some bespoke one-off creations such as their recent project inspired by the Ferrari F12 TRS.
Not luxurious enough for you?
Rumour has it, we will see Oakley Design take on the task of attempting to break the land speed record in none other than the Oakley Design, Bugatti Veyron. However, CONFIRMED is the delivery of Oakley’s Bugatti Chiron which presumably won’t take Oakley long before he adds his signature design – making this one of the first customised Chiron’s in the world!
So where does Jon tie in with the Motor-Vision Awards?
Motor-Vision are extremely lucky to have Jon on board as part of the judging panel and not only this, he has kindly allowed us to use his workshop for the Motor-Vision interview stage, where our lucky finalists can see most of his creations in the flesh.
His professional opinion and valuable experience will make him an asset to our specialist judging panel, helping to give our contestants face-to-face advise on their current project.
The Oakley workshop is a place that makes motoring dreams a reality on a daily basis and we couldn’t think of a more fitting establishment to host this year’s Motor-Vision Awards.
