It’s a luxury sports car combined with state of the art technology. The new Audi TT is not only set to be another step up from the already famed car recognised for its style, but it also contains an all-digital virtual cockpit.

This cockpit contains a 12.3-inch, high resolution LCD display that fill all of the driver’s instrument binnacle. It is intended to replace the analogue dials typically found in cars and utilises a Tegra 30 graphics processor from Nvidia to get sharp images.

There are two display modes available in the vehicle. One is classic view, which is where the speedometer and rev counter are in the foreground. There is also the infotainment mode, where these instruments are smaller and space is freed up for other functions including a navigation map. The virtual cockpit also contains displays for outside temperature, time, mileage as well as the warning and information symbols.

As well as the virtual cockpit, the car also has an advanced new chassis and body that is reminiscent of the old TT but with an upgraded look.

It is 4.18 metres long, making the coupe almost exactly the same length as the previous model. However, the wheelbase is now 37 mm longer at 2,505 mm. The car is 1,832 mm wide and the same height as the previous model at 1,353 mm. It is also more practical for everyday use as it is a 2+2 seater and has 13 litres more load area capacity at 305 litres.

Aside from the new looks and gadgets, the car still performs well in terms of fuel efficiency and lowering emissions. The new 184PS ultra version is predicted to be able to get more than 67 mpg and will produce carbon dioxide emissions from as low as 110 g/km.
