Land Rover celebrates best-selling model with special edition Discovery Sport
SUVs may be the trendiest and in-demand vehicle type in the UK right now but Land Rover has been there all along, going right back to 1948 – well before the original Range Rover from 1970. Over the decades, Land Rover has sold a fair few SUVs but few have been as popular as the Discovery Sport.
Such is its popularity, the Discovery Sport has been named fastest-selling Land Rover SUV in history and has just received its own special edition model to recognise this achievement.
No model in the Land Rover product line sold better than the Discovery Sport in 2017, with 126,078 units shifted worldwide, which also marked an all-time high for single year sales of any Land Rover in the past 70 years. In total, more than 350,000 Discovery Sports have been sold globally since it launched in 2014.
But what about this special edition model?
Named the Landmark Edition, it is powered by Land Rover’s TD4 177bhp diesel Ingenium engine and offers customers the best of the Discovery Sport range with a unique colour and trim combination. This 1,750cc diesel unit can get it up to 62mph in 9.9 seconds with a top speed of 117mph.
Stylistically, the SUV is available in three colours: narvik black, corris grey and yulong white – with a carpathian grey contrast roof.
Up front is a sporty and dynamic front bumper with graphite atlas exterior accents and it rides on 19-inch ‘Style 521 Mantis’ gloss dark grey wheels.
Inside, the interior features ebony-grained leather seats and an ebony headliner, a panoramic roof, Meridian sound system and heated steering wheel.
If you like the sound of this, you can order one now for £40,400 on the road.
