Motorsport fans look to be in for a treat with the new-look 2018-19 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) Super Season, with an iconic British brand recently confirming its ambitious plans for the competition.

Aston Martin Racing will race two brand new Vantage GTEs in the GTE Pro category of the event, with a revised line-up of drivers behind the wheels of these marvellous machines.

Three-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Darren Turner will team up with Danish pair and former GTE Pro champions Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen in the #95 car, dubbed the ‘Dane Train’.

Meanwhile, new Aston Martin Racing signings Maxime Martin and Alex Lynn will share the #97 entry with Jonny Adam, GTE Pro winner at Le Mans last year.

Fans will also get to see the highly successful trio of Paul Dalla Lana, Mathias Lauda and Pedro Lamy defending their GTE AM world championship title in the Aston Martin Racing V8 Vantage GTE.

There’s certainly plenty to look forward to in the FIA WEC 2018-19 calendar, with the new Super Season line-up comprising eight epic races over a total of nearly 14 months.

The turbo-charged action will begin with the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on May 5th 2018, with other highlights including 6 Hours of Silverstone (August 19th 2018) and 12 Hours of Sebring (March 16th/17th), not to mention two 24-hour racing extravaganzas at Le Mans on June 16th/17th 2018 and June 15th/16th 2019.

Aston Martin Racing is clearly well up for the challenge. Team principal Paul Howarth said: “Our heritage in the sport and our track record shows that we are all about delivering race wins and championship titles, and we look forward to fighting for both in the new Super Season format, which also offers us the opportunity to return to Sebring in America and race at great circuits like Silverstone and Spa.”
