Porsche has revealed its latest sports car designed for the recreational and club racer.

Porsche GT4 - Front

The Cayman GT4 Clubsport made its high-impact debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show and will undoubtedly appeal to track fans.

Based on the Cayman GT4, the Clubsport has a 3.8-litre flat-six engine, as well as a modified six-speed Porsche double clutch transmission with shift paddles on the steering wheel and a mechanical rear-axle locking differential designed exclusively for racing.

The Clubsport’s strut front axle comes straight from the 911 GT3 Cup racer, while the lightweight strut front axle is taken from Porsche’s 911 GT3 Cup star.

In total, the new car will weigh around 1,300 kg – relatively impressive given it has a welded-in safety cage, racing seats and a six-point harness safety system.

Porsche has also confirmed the car will be able to compete in a number of upcoming events, including the Pirelli World Challenge, the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge and club races organised by the Porsche Club of America.
