Zorbing is a recreational activity that originated in New Zealand, where participants enter a large inflatable ball and are rolled downhill. There are two inflatable layers inside to keep the user safe from danger.

“Creating a life size CarZorb to highlight the technology is an exciting and memorable way of reminding people about the benefits of Nissan’s Safety Shield.”

The stunt was completed as the new Note celebrates its first anniversary since it came to European roads.

This CarZorb took over two months to build and weighs more than a tonne. It was tested in a top secret UK military training facility.

Using the Zorb, the manufacturer was able to show off a little bit of the suite of technology built around safety that is installed in the car. Among the features that are installed on the Nissan Note as part of Safety Shield are lane departure warning, blind spot warning and moving object detection. This system is powered by a 360 degrees Around View Monitor, which is aided by a rear camera.

In the UK, the Note is produced at the Nissan Sunderland Plant, alongside the Qashqai, Juke and completely electric Nissan Leaf.

Since the plant opened in 1986, over seven million units have been produced and 80 per cent of production has been exported to 97 markets worldwide.
