Images of Porsche’s 911 GT3 RS have emerged ahead of the mean green machine’s reveal at this week’s Geneva Motor Show.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS

The track-bred sports car takes the GT3 and cranks up the ferocity – albeit not to the extent of the GT2 RS, which verges on hooligan-esque hostility.

It uses a four-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six engine that pumps out 513bhp, which is 19 more than the GT3, and enough to blast you off to 62mph in a face-rippingly fast 3.2 seconds.

With a seven-speed PDK paddle-shifter tasked with working through the gears, the 911 GT3 RS will continue to pick up speed until it hits 194mph. No manual option here but you’d be charming yourself if you could do a better job than the auto.

Suspension has been tuned for maximum tactility and precision, while recalibrated rear axle steering links up with this revised suspension for quicker reactions to driver input and a generally more agile drive.

Steering and traction are further enhanced due to the fact that the car rides on 20-inch lightweight, forged alloy wheels with newly-developed 265/35 sports tyres on the front axle with 21-inch diameter wheels with 325/30 tyres on the rear.

If green isn’t your thing, don’t fret, the 911 GT3 RS will be available in other colours; we just don’t know which ones yet.

Much of the car’s design is dictated by aerodynamics – most notably, the distinctive rear wing – however, detail changes have also been applied throughout the car.

This ‘form following function’ ethos is carried inside, with the cabin boasting deep-sculpted sports seats made of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic with a carbon-weave finish, which provide secure lateral support through bends.

Barely anyone outside of Porsche has seen the new 911 GT3 RS in the flesh, but you can order one already, with prices starting from £141,346.00.

The first examples will be delivered early summer.
