The all-new supercar had its global premiere at the Geneva Motor Show recently and now Audi has released some confirmed specifications for the vehicle.

Powering the car is a ten-cylinder FSI engine. This delivers 540 PS in the standard version and 610 PS in the Plus model, giving the latter the title of the fastest and most powerful series production Audi in history. The R8 V10 plus can go from 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, to 124 mph in 9.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 205 mph.

The car’s engine comes with direct and indirect injection, as well as Cylinder on Demand technology that is linked to the latest start-stop system.

Each version of the car is fitted with the latest generation of Quattro all-wheel drive, using an electrohydraulic multi-plate clutch that can send all the torque to the front or rear axle according to driving conditions.

The new version of the R8 sees weight reduced by up to 50 kg compared to the previous model. That’s thanks to multimaterial Audi Space Frame construction, which also contributes to a 40 per cent increase in body rigidity.

Each car comes with 19-inch wheels as standard that have exclusive designs, while the V10 Plus gets ceramic disc brakes fitted for increased stopping power. Customers who opt for the Plus model will also get the option of 20-inch wheels.

On the outside, the car has all-LED headlamps and LED tail lamps, as well as dynamic rear indicators that come with a scrolling function that shows the intended turn direction. At the front of the car, the headlights gain front dynamic indicators as well as laser spots for the high beams.

Those laser spots give the driver an extended field of vision and increases the brightness. The headlights also have a high beam assist function for automatic alternation between dipped headlights and high beam.
