For those who like to admire sports cars and learn a little more about motoring technology then the Motorexpo in London is a great place to fulfill this passion. Oh, and it’s free.
A total of 400,000 visitors are expected to attend this event, which runs from June 9th to 15th, where they will get to take a peek at F1 cars to electric vehicles and even test drive some of the cars that will be on display.
The centrepiece of the event is likely to be the huge collection of sports cars that will be on offer. At the base of One Canada Square, this will include the Evora Sports Racer from Lotus, the Cayman GTS by Porsche, the 650S from McLaren and the Vanquish Volante by Aston Martin. What’s more, the new Continental GTV8 S from Bentley will also make its first ever appearance at a public event.
Meanwhile, in the lobby of One Canada Square, there will be a handful of creations from some of the best luxury car brands, including the Maserati Ghblli, Rolls Royce Wraith and Infiniti Q50. In Canada Square Park, visitors will get to enjoy a range of new products from the likes of Lexus, Jaguar, BMW, Mini, Land Rover and Volvo.
What many visitors will be interested in, of course, is the chance to give some supercars a whirl with the DriveMe feature at Motorexpo. visitors will get the chance to drive any of the vehicles around the Canary Wharf Estate where they see the DriveMe sign next to them.
For the motorsports fans, two Formula One cars will be available to view from the Lotus and Red Bull Racing teams.
Car and motorbike enthusiasts that are interested in some of the forward-thinking and sustainable vehicle technologies that have been thought up will be able to look at some of what is in store. This includes the Model S car from Tesla, designed to deliver optimum performance but with zero emissions. There is also the electric motorbike with a retro edge, the B4 Bike as well as the urban sports motorcycle the Saietta R from Agility Global.
For the office worker, there is also a brand new innovation in merging travel and work that will be on display at the event. The Luxury Mobile Office Company is providing offices that can be transported easily and are based on Mercedes Vianos. These come with Wi-Fi and a boardroom table, which is essential to the modern day office.
Chief executive officer of Motorexpo Graeme Carver said: “London Motorexpo is always a pleasure to organise and not only is it a magnificent spectacle but it’s also an impressive display of car design in a relaxed and free environment.
“It is one of the highlights of the annual Canary Wharf events calendar and one of the most commercially viable as workers and visitors stream out of the offices to marvel at the displays while manufacturers from all over the world get to talk face-to-face and ultimately sell to potential buyers.”
