The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been named the winner in the Best Premium Car category at the 2012 Fleet News Awards this week.

The awards ceremony took place on March 21st at the Grosvenor House hotel in Park Lane, London and saw the vehicle pick up of the top honours of the
night.

All entrants were scored using a range of criteria – including depreciation, maintenance and repair costs, fuel consumption, lease rates and tax liability to name but a few – with the C-Class performing admirably in the majority of areas.

The judges noted the C-Class has had a
major facelift for its release in 2012 and this stylish new look, coupled with the excellent efficiency and low emissions offered by the vehicle make it the perfect choice to take the top honour in this year’s premium car category.

Nick Andrews, head of fleet for Mercedes-Benz UK, said:
“We are delighted to have won Best Premium Car for our C-Class at the Fleet News Awards, which really confirms our commitment to deliver the finest product and best service to our fleet customers.

“With a current upgrade offer on the model line from Elegance to a Sport, saving up to
£1,700, the C-Class really is the ideal choice for both drivers and fleet managers.”

The C-Class features numerous engine options for buyers, with both diesel and petrol variants available.

Furthermore, the C-Class also features advanced suspension technology from
Mercedes-Benz, helping to ensure excellent ride quality and fewer bumps, even on uneven and broken road surfaces.

Finally, the model also include the manufacturer’s new ECO Start/Stop technology, which has been designed to help reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by stopping the
engine when it is not in use.

This takes place whenever the vehicle’s speed drops below five mph, such as when pulling up at lights or when journeying in slow-moving traffic.
