Top Gear Live begins at the NEC in Birmingham today, with this year's edition of the motoring extravaganza expected to break all previous records.

Fans of the BBC Two show can look forward to seeing fearless stunt drivers in action, as well as an exhibition of the world's finest supercars and special celebrity guests.

Presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May – with some help from driving legend The Stig – are hosting the event, which runs until Sunday October 28th.

Among the highlights of the programme is a live version of Top Gear's Star in a Reasonably Priced Car feature, which will feature celebrity drivers such as Blue Peter presenter Zoe Salmon, Olympic swimming champion Mark Foster and comedian Johnny Vegas.

Elsewhere, supercar lovers will find a number of mouth-watering models on display at the NEC. There will be a chance to view the stunning Bugatti Veyron – officially the world's fastest production car – and other fiendishly quick vehicles like the SSC Ultimate Aero.

The event organisers have reported unprecedented advance sales for Top Gear Live, although tickets are still available. Family passes for Saturday and Sunday are priced at £156 plus booking fee.
